What the one-time fee buys

Updated 5 September 2026 · ~6 min read

Why LMS White’s one-time price is a perpetual software licence for your institution — not a sale of source code or the right to resell the platform.

What this means for you

The one-time platform fee is a perpetual licence to use your LMS White deployment for your own institution. You get the product configured for your brand and learners — not a transfer of LMS White’s source code, not ownership of the platform company, and not a right to resell LMS White as a competing white-label product.

Initial deployment and setup items are whatever your Order Form / Plan Schedule lists. Anything outside that written scope is quoted separately.

Why software is sold as a licence (not “you bought the code”)

Across the industry, SaaS and packaged education platforms almost never sell raw source ownership with a standard plan price. A licence lets you run the product for your students while the vendor keeps the intellectual property that powers every customer. That is normal for CRM, LMS, ERP and white-label app products — not a LMS White-only rule.

If source ownership or a competing reseller right were included, the commercial model would look completely different (custom acquisition, escrow, much higher pricing, and different liability).

Examples

  • You can brand the portal, run courses, and operate under your institution name for as long as the licence terms allow.
  • You cannot fork LMS White’s codebase and sell it as “YourBrand LMS White clone” to other academies.
  • GST / tax is excluded from list prices unless your invoice says otherwise — tax is a statutory charge, not a platform feature fee.

What LMS White controls: the product IP, how licences are granted, and what is included in your Order Form.

What LMS White does not invent as a “gotcha”: the industry distinction between using software and owning source. Your brand, content and student data remain yours (see ownership guide).
